Air Brake Valves for Locomotives and Wagons

Air Brake Valves JZ-7 and JZ-7G

Air brake valve is an important component in locomotive’s braking system. RISL can supply JZ-7 air brake valve and JZ-7G air brake valve, and they are applicable for both passenger and freight transit. Air brake valves JZ-7 and JZ-7G are widely used in Chinese locomotives.

The performance of JZ-7 air brake valve is similar to that of 26-L air brake valve, but JZ-7 air brake valve adds low-pressure overcharge performance and a relay valve with good flushing and exhausting functions. Therefore, the valve fundamentally overcomes the poor charging and discharging performance of 26-L aire brake valve.

JZ-7 air brake valve is composed of automatic braking valve, independent braking valve, relay valve, distribution valve, acting valve, equalizing air cylinder, working air cylinder, pressure reducing air cylinder, acting air cylinder, and brake cylinder, etc.

JZ-7 air brake valve shows the following features and advantanges:

1. Having an excessive decompression position

The valve has a normal braking zone which is from the minimum decompression position to the maximum decompression position. The decompression amount of the brake pipe increases with the passage of the handle. When the self-valve handle is parked at the required decompression position, the pressure can be automatically maintained. After the brake pipe is charged to a constant pressure, if the brake pipe leaks, it can be replenished.

2. Having an excessive decompression position

This position has a larger decompression volume than the normal braking zone. It solves the problem that the valve can still effectively brake in the case of insufficient charging of the brake pipe and the auxiliary cylinder.

3. The valve adopts rubber diaphragms, plunger valves, O-rings, stop valves and other parts

The adoption of rubber diaphragms, plunger valves, O-rings, stop valves, etc. can not only extend the maintenance period, but also make manufacturing, operation and maintenance more convenient.

4. Distribution valve with two and three pressure mixing mechanism

The distribution valve adopts a two-pressure and three-pressure mixing mechanisms. The valve has both a stage relief effect and a one-time relief effect, which is suitable for modern locomotive brakes. The pressure of the brake cylinder does not change with the volume of the brake cylinder. The same pressure can be obtained regardless of the position of the locomotive in the train. If the brake cylinder pressure leaks, it can be automatically replenished, and it has a booster effect after emergency braking.

5. Having an overcharge position

The automatic braking valve is equipped with an overcharge position. This position can shorten the initial charging and recharging time of the brake pipe and the auxiliary air cylinder. Due to the role of the relay valve, the charging and exhausting of the brake pipe are much faster than other types of locomotive air brake valves.

6. Automatic braking valve adopts cam structure

The handle is light and convenient to operate, and is not affected by the temperature.

7. Applicable for both passenger and freight transit

Due to the setting of the switching valve for passenger and freight cars, JZ-7 air brake valve can be used for both passenger cars and freight cars.

In addition to JZ-7 air brake valve, RISL can also supply JZ-7G air brake valve which shows similar performance.

Besides the complete air brake valves, RISL can provide all repair kits for the valves, including rubber diaphragms, plunger valves, O-rings, stop valves, gaskets, seals, etc.
