A conical rubber spring is named from the shape of the rubber layer design. It has a structure with layers of rubber bonded to metal. As important wagon parts, conical rubber springs are often installed in pairs in one axle box and provide vertical stiffness (or longitudinal stiffness) and horizontal stiffness (lateral and longitudinal stiffness). The vertical stiffness is soft and gets progressively stiffer in order to prevent derailment. The longitudinal and lateral stiffness is important for transferring the braking and traction force as well as for the stability of the rail car. The advantage of conical rubber springs is maintenance free during its entire service life.
RISL can supply a wide range of conical rubber springs used for passenger coaches, metros and trains, including but not limited to:
- Cone type rubber spring (unilateral positioning)
- Cone type rubber spring (four-hole structure)
- L-type conical spring
- Cone type rubber spring
- and more types ……
RISL can also provide OEM service, and bogie rubber springs can be tailor-made based on customers’ requirements and specifications. Different mechanical structures can be designed to meet customers’ different stiffness property requirements.
