Lenses for Railway Headlamps and Marker Lamps

Lenses are widely used for railway marker lamps and headlamps. Generally in railway practice, each end of a locomotive has two marker lamps, and each marker lamp housing can have two colours — red and white. The red or yellow light is mainly a result of red or white lenses equipped in front of the lighting source, and the lenses can be made of various materials, like glass, plastics, etc. In addition, the lenses can protect the lighting source, which ranges from incandescent bulbs, sealed beams, LED lights, halogen bulbs, etc. For railway headlamps, transparent glass lenses are normally used to achieve good illumination as well as to protect the bulbs.
