A traction motor is an electric motor used for propulsion of a locomotive, and it is a key electrical component for a locomotive. In China’s railway development, many models of traction motors for railway applications are manufactured based on the technology transfer and import from General Electric (GE), and the the performance data can reach the level of the original GE traction motors. Many motors can be replaceable and exchangeable with the original GE traction motors.

In addition to the complete set of locomotive traction motors, RISL can supply full range of spare parts thereof, including but not limited to: commutating field coil, exciting field coil, ball bearings, armature assembly, roller bearings, brush holder, carbon brush, axle bearings, and so on. The parts of some models which are exchangeable with the original GE locomotive traction motors can completely replace original GE motor parts.
