Master Controllers for Locomotives

Railway master controllers (sometimes also called “driver’s controllers”) are mainly designed to control traction speed, braking force, and travelling direction. As key electrical parts for locomotives, master controllers normally comprise the control elements required for driving and braking, as well as for controlling the auxiliary functions. Generally, the master controller is installed on the dash board in the driver’s cab. It normally is consisted of a drive and brake handle, a direction bandle, snap-action switches, etc. The drive and brake handle is to set the traction speed and the braking force, the direction handle is to control the running direction of the vehicle, and snap-action switches provide the master controller with the stable performance and the long service life.
